Costa Rica Info > Where to live!
Now that you have practically decided to move to Costa Rica, the big questions is: “where”?

Since Costa Rica has so many different micro climates, it is necessary to know what each area is about, what the climate is, what shopping and schools are available etc. A lot depends upon where you are coming from; when you come from a cold climate, you like warm weather and when you come from the hot, you like the cool weather.

Below, I will describe a little of each area, please click on each area to see the description.

Samara - A pretty, little beach village
Samara is the kind of laid back and unknown little beach town that most people imagine when they think of living on the beach in the tropics. The beautiful pristine beaches on a long, horseshoe-shaped bay give you the sensation of Samara Beach being stranded on a tropical island.
Unlike most of Costa Rica's Northern Pacific coast, the bay at Samara Beach is excellent for swimming and for kids, since an island and a coral reef break up most of the surf.
People who know the beaches of Costa Rica, call Samara their first choice for a relaxing beach getaway and world class sportfishing. The calm waters and steep cliffs on the far side of the bay make this a very attractive spot, and the beach is long, wide and protected by a picturesque wooded island offshore, the Isla Chora and the reef. The reef in front of Samara is a have for marine life and the clear, calm water is ideal for snorkeling. Samara Beach is easily accessible along a well-paved road.
Driving along the coastal road in either direction, you'll come to other spectacular beaches like Playa Carrillo and Playa Buenavista. The Samara beach area is truly a secret hotspot, but now it is the most easily accessible beach in Guanacaste, since the new bridge crossing the Gulf of Nicoya is now open.
Samara Beach has all conveniences you want on a daily basis like supermarkets, a pharmacy, restaurants, stores, bars, nightclubs, hotels, school and even an airport which connects to San José in half an hour twice daily. Nicoya, the provincial capital, is just a 30 minute drive away with a hospital, banks, supermarkets, several stores and public schools and two private schools as well.
Prices for real estate in Samara are still extremely reasonable compared to other beach towns and areas of Guanacaste. Actually this is unbelievable for what Samara Beach has to offer and therefore a great opportunity if you are interested in purchasing real estate on the beach, so contact us now in order to see what kinds of properties you can purchase in Playa Samara and the surrounding areas.
